Terms
Last updated 22 September 2026
TypeGroove is a game where you read by typing. It is free, it is run by one person, and these terms are as short as they can honestly be.
The library
Every work in the public library is out of copyright. That is not incidental — it is why the library can exist at all, and why nothing under copyright will be added to it.
Texts you upload
You can upload your own text to read. It stays private to your account. You are responsible for having the right to use whatever you upload, and uploading something you do not have the right to is your call and your risk, not a licence granted by this site. You keep whatever rights you had in it; uploading gives TypeGroove no claim to it beyond storing it so it can be shown back to you.
The board
Runs are verified on the server before they are ranked, so a score posted to the daily board is one that was actually typed. Automating it, scripting it, or otherwise posting a run you did not read is the one thing that will get an account removed. There is no prize here; the board is only worth reading if it is true.
Pick a display name you would be comfortable seeing in public, because that is where it goes. Names that are abusive or impersonate someone will be changed or removed.
No promises about uptime
The site is provided as it is. It may change, break, lose data or stop existing. Nothing here is guaranteed, and it should not be relied on as the only copy of anything that matters to you. There is no warranty of any kind, and no liability for loss arising from using it.
Ending it
You can ask for your account to be deleted at any time and it will be, entirely. An account may be removed from this end for the abuse described above.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with them.
